The Fine Print

Withdrawal, Re-Entry and Termination

We understand that life happens. Below is the fine print for students who need to leave the program.

Withdrawals  Beauty Ink students who choose to withdraw from the course must schedule an appointment to talk with the Beauty Ink administration and sign withdrawal paperwork. Students will be asked to clean and empty their work stations and lockers. Students may not withdraw from the course without completing the required paperwork.

Re-Entry Students   In order to re-enter the program after withdrawal, a student’s tuition fees must be up to date. Because tuition fees are subject to change, re-entering students would re-contract under the new terms. Re-admission acceptance will be determined on satisfactory academic progress prior to withdrawal or termination.

Termination Policy  Beauty Ink reserves the right to terminate a student’s enrollment at any time for improper conduct after that student receives three formal write-ups.

Professional Guidelines & Image

Professionalism is an important part of owning a successful business, and in the beauty industry, image is also important. We strive to teach Beauty Ink students these lessons through practical application in day-to-day class guidelines.

Attendance

  • It is the student’s responsibility to clock in and out. If you need to make a time correction, you have 24 hours to submit the required form.

  • The student must be in the building and ready to learn 15 minutes prior to class starting. We begin promptly at 9am. After three tardies, the student will receive a write-up.

  • Students are expected to maintain a 100% attendance during the Heart Course. Theory is mandatory.

  • Students are allowed to use .5% or 18.75 hours of their time for doctors visits or sick days. These are considered excused absenses but the hours must be made up at a later date on the student’s own time.

Breaks

  • Students will be expected to take a lunch break daily from 11:30 am until noon.

  • Students may take two 15 minute breaks per day.

  • If you plan to leave the premises, you must alert a staff member and clock out. Always clock back in when you return.

  • Cell phones are only permitted during lunch or breaks, and may not be used when clients are present unless a student is taking before-and-after treatment photos.

Image

  • Students are expected to wear black scrubs Monday through Thursday, and for causal Fridays, students can wear a Beauty Ink t-shirt and jeans. Wardrobe must be clean, professional and tidy.

  • Beauty Ink Academy students are expected to arrive to class groomed, with good personal hygiene, have their hair and makeup fixed and presentable every day. We strive for a lasting impression upon our clients and our appearance is very important to our business.

  • Nails must be cut short and  kept clean, and no acrylic nails are allowed during the practical exam.

  • As with our physical appearances, content posted to your Beauty Ink social media accounts should reflect the mission of the academy.

Testing & Grading

Course grading is based on passing a practical exam at the end of your term. After the six month course is over, students who have not made up their hours or completed their 15 models and remain unlicensed will be charged an additional $100 per week, as they are holding a new student’s spot in the course.

Written & Practical Exams

  • Each student will be required to complete their online Blood Borne Pathogen approved course as well as complete the Arkansas Permanent Cosmetics apprenticeship application and mail to the department of health before the start of their course.

  • Once the student’s application is received, the Department of Health will email them a link to take their written exam. This written exam requires a $50 fee, which the student is responsible for, and a copy of their high school diploma or GED. The test will license students to become body art apprentices.

  • At the end of the six month course, students must pass a practical exam to receive their license. This license costs $100 to renew annually.

  • Students who show exceptional promise will be offered the ability to stay on as a working student for three to six months to work under an instructor. This could result in a contract for one year of employment.
